now that the real sport has the limelight, haha today was sort of a kick-off to conference play

some notable teams today went down

#5 Duke lost to Georgia Tech
#12 UConn lost to Georgetown
#4 Purdue lost to Wisconsin
Kansas State lost to Missouri

#3 Kentucky barely survived a scare from Georgia
Notre Dame is beating #8 WVU 23-4
Wake lost to Miami
UVa beat NCSU

a good weekend of basketball...

tomorrow VT plays @ Carolina and Kansas plays Tennessee

Georgetown was #13, not an upset IMO
#10 Kansas State let me down tho, Im real high on them and they didnt look good today. Mizzou isnt near as good as they were last year.

Georgia Tech loses to UGA one game, then beats Duke. They are so inconsistent, but they have all the talent in the world. I used to defend Hewitt, but its getting harder.

Duke got exposed, their lack of athleticism killed them. They could not guard Lawal, and no one could score aside from Scheyer, who had what, 25? out of 67.

Wisconsin is for real. Beating Duke and Purdue showed me they are real contenders.

Purdue isnt as good as I expected, they barely beat a mediocre Alabama team, but they are still good, and could still make the Final Four.

But UGA isnt bad, they are actually a surprise team. they beat GT last week. UK survived tho, with a young team it will eventually catch up and cost them a game tho, but John Wall is already the best player in the country. Scary

Duke will have trouble against any team with an athletic frontline and can hit a few shots from the outside...which is why they will have trouble with UNC's inside game...

Wisconsin beating Purdue was not unexpected as has been said but Purdue is as good as advertised especially on their own floor...

UK played down to UGa in that game...want to see them play Vandy who is playing very well in that league...

ACC does not have as much separating the top from the bottom this season...

Big 12 really is now a 4 team league and truly the 2nd best league with Kansas, Texas, Baylor & Kansas State with Missouri, Texas Tech and Okla. St. not bad...

All of the leagues are still trailing the Big East from top to bottom overall...

Great day so far for these games and should be interesting from here out...

i dont think the Big East is #1, it has to be the Big XII, #1, #2, and #10.
Kansas State is for real too, they are really good

The Big 10 is better than the Big East IMO

and I agree on Vandy, they are a sleeper Sweet 16 team.

I agree with Coach Cal, how the Cats arent 9-7 I dont know, so young and at so key positions. I expect some games to be blow out and some to be 3 point wins. Id say bout half way through the SEC slate things will start to even out and they come into their own. It's happy day for UK fans after suffering through Billy Clyde and the final years of Tubby Smith, who I am happy to see have success at Minn.

Kansas-UT is a pretty good game

UT's white guys suck a hard nut, they're walk-ons so they get a pass...

Pearl is doin a really good job with what he's been dealt

just about any game that Chism gets in foul trouble will turn out to be an L

does Steven Pearl need his name on the back of his jersey?? with a nose like that, you can tell he's Bruce Pearl's son if you had glaucoma sitting in the nosebleeds, wearing sunglasses

just turned it on, halftime of the NFL game, but UT still up

if they beat KU down 4 players, thatd be incredible

UT has been hot from 3 earlier, as I type another three

UT wins by 8 with Chism and Prince sitting the bench most of the game. That left 4 scholarship players and a bunch of walk ons. It seems like Pearl does better with less talent. One of "UT's white guys" who "suck a hard nut" hits a 3 with under a minute with 1 second on the shot to put the game away.

Id say those white guys where unstopable in HS.
UK had guys like Chris Harrison, Cam Mills etc. Who at times looked lost as goats on a interstate, other times they would come across half court and nail 3 after 3. Harrison Avg something like 35 pts a game in HS, he got 35 mins a month a UK.
